It is OFFICIALLY Dallas Restaurant Week! Kip & I love to eat out (especially alone) so Restaurant Week is right up our alley. I was lucky to be invited to a wonderful preview of DRW at Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House on Thursday night courtesy of the Texas Beef Council. The menu & company were fabulous, but I was most excited to leave a little more educated about this great event. It’s only fair to share the details with you. 🙂
Over 125 restaurants participate. Get a list of the participating restaurants here and make a reservation quickly!
Each meal is $35. (Yes, ONLY $35!!)
Each meal triggers a $7 donation. (So, you can feel really good about the calories)
And in the end over $600,000 is raised for the North Texas Food Bank (Dallas restaurants) and the Lena Pope Home (Ft. Worth Restaurants).
I also learned that if you go and buy $25 of groceries at Central Market, you will get a token for a special 4th course! Central Market, here I come!
I was lucky to enjoy dinner with Marianne Howells, who launched Restaurant Week in Dallas 14 years ago. She was such a joy to spend dinner with & I felt like an insider for a minute. Oh, and I got to taste the special 4th course.
So – all of this being said – I was way too busy eating to get any pictures. But I am sure there will be some great pics that I can borrow across the web over the next few days.
Kip & I are heading out to Dragonfly at Hotel ZaZa on Friday night to enjoy another night of Restaurant Week – I hope to get some great pics then!
